A New York state of mind

I would caution to say that most New Yorkers know of or have literally heard plaid bike man. For years he has been riding around the city blasting Frank Sinatra music from the stereo taped on the back of his bike. What you can't see from this picture are the photos of women splattered on his deconstructed Boombox. A New Yorker like no other.

And before I skip town for the weekend to join bike man in NYC, I can't help but ask who would be London's icon? Is it fiery, megaphone preacher, "Don't be a sinner - be a winner" Phil Howard? Who incidentally was slapped with an ASBO last May which is really why Oxford Street is said to have lost its soul. Or would it have to be Brian Haw the permanent peace protester at Parliament Square? And we are talking people here so, for this once, Topshop doesn't count.

Sinner man is cool but can get angry and aggressive

Shopping on oxford street is definitely more peaceful without him and guilt free

Would have to go with brian haw

Agree sinner winner man every time

Ken is an embarassment. London can do better than that.

I once had to sit next to the sinner or winner guy on a three hour train journey....that was tiring...

And he didn't even remember me a week later...

He has retruned from his asbo banishment - now usually based at Picadilly Circus.

And I shook Brian Haw's hand last week when I bumped into him at the Westminster Courts where he was fighting the system.

No Slicker, my celebrity spots are not quite as glamorous as yours....

Sadly sinner-winner man is not allowed onto oxford street for another year. If only Nike Town would go the same way.

Would give him the vote CS.

Saw him by hammersmith apollo last week

I agree
'be a winner not a sinner' guy wins

Sinner - winner is a freak. I don't object to religion, but object to being sunject to diatribes. I don't stand on Oxford Street trying to 'recruit' gays.....
